Hello everyone! WOW I have been a total slacker when it comes to my blog! I am going to "try" and do better!!

Life is good for Nicky and I. He is growing like a weed and talking in complete sentences even more now. I find myself carrying on complete conversations with him now!! He also learned a new phrase to say when he gets frustated "Damn it" Here is a video to prove it!!

Nicholas is doing very good at daycare. He has now went two full weeks of not wiping his nose with his arm!! YAY!! That was a big challenge for us! He now asked for a tissue everytime!! YAHOO!! So to reward him I took him to the store and he picked out a movie "The Bee Movie"!

Nicholas has been spending alot of weekends with his daddy. It is doing him so good. He loves to go over there and is always full of stories when he gets home. The one thing he LOVES to do is make cookies with daddy. Steve recently introduced him to NASCAR and drag racing ... of course now that is all Nicky talks about!! So it starts!! LOL!!

Nicholas has had a rough spell the last few weeks with being sick! First the stomach flu, then RSV and last week a really high fever! YUCK YUCK and more YUCK! He seems to be feeling better (even though mommy is feeling kinda crappy today). He did his breathing treatments so good!!

The weather is still crappy! Alittle better this week but sounds like it won't stay long. I can't wait till summertime gets here!! Its Nicky and I's favorite time of the year!!

My nephew (Connor) is coming to stay with us this weekend! Nicky and I are both excited to have him come! I am not sure what we will do but whatever it is we will have fun!!

Other than that life is normal ... work, daycare and every day chores! Fun fun!! Nothing new on my personal life side ... but I am okay with that! I am very happy with the life that I have right now ... especially since I have a wonderful son!!!

Here are a couple pictures!!

Well it took forever to get there because the fuel pump modular decided to crap out on me on the way but we made it! Thanks to Steve ... he was a HUGE help with coming to pick us up and help me get my car towed to the shop!! I can't thank him enough!!

Nicholas had fun TOT'ing though ... he was alittle shy at first but after the first couple houses he was good to go! He even said "thank you" to most people!!

Boo at the Zoo

Misc for October ... Nicky went to the zoo for fall feast and we walked for diabetes!!

Wow .... its almost November!!

Happy Monday!!

I can't believe how fast this year has went!! Its almost November already! We even had snow flurries this morning on our way to work!! YUCK! Seriously didn't fall just get here?? I have realized that anymore there are only two seasons; summer and winter! :(

This weekend was rough for Nicky and I ….

Steve and I have been going back and forth on whether or not to give Nicholas the flu shot . After talking to his pediatrician we decided it was probably the best thing for him to get one since he is in daycare and his history of getting sick.

The office is about 5 miles from Steve’s and about 45 min drive for me in traffic; so he decided to take him last week since he had him. He took him on Thursday morning. They have open hours for the flu shots. When they got there they asked him to have a seat while they pulled his file. Steve said they sat there for about 5 minutes and they called him back. When they got back to the room the nurse (who is not the normal pedi nurse) came in and told Steve “Looks like your little guy is a candidate for the flu mist” … Steve said “oh ok, I just had the mist for military and they said it was only for adults” .. the nurse told him that they know have the mist for ages 2 and older. She said that it was Steve’s decision whether to give Nicholas the mist or shot. So Steve said well I guess the mist that way he doesn’t have to go through a shot…. They gave him the mist and away they went.

Steve called to tell me they got it and were going shopping and that he would meet me after work to drop him off. The afternoon went on and I didn’t hear anything. Then when I met him to pick Nicky up he told me that Nicholas was sounding very horse and starting to get a deep cough. I got him home and realized that he was burning up to. He had a fever of 102.4 ….. he was so lethargic all night .. Didn’t want to do anything but lay on the couch and drink juice!!

The next morning, after coughing all night, I gave him Advil and sent him to daycare. I had a few things I had to get done at work. I decided to call his pedi and ask her about it. She had been off on Thursday so she didn’t even know he had come in. She looked at his file and said to me “He shouldn’t have had the flu mist because of his immune and resp. issues he has had” .. WTF!! Serious?? She then went on about how Steve must have answered no to the questions about having these issues. I couldn’t believe would, but I guess it was a possibility. So I called Steve, he said there were NO questions about his medical history … he said looking back he should have asked but the nurse was looking at his file, which has everything in it. So basically what happened is the live virus from the mist went straight to his lungs. He has been sick all weekend. Fever, headache, can hardly talk, etc. Yesterday was the first time he actually wanted to play. We had to stay inside all weekend and do breathing treatments every 6 hours. His pedi said he can not have the mist till at least age 5!!!

He is better today …. Not completely but he actually woke up in a good mood and was hungry!! I have had him on Motrin all weekend.

The thing is …. He only got ½ the dose and is suppose to go back in a month for the other half … well they have to give the mist again since they did the first time … ummmm let’s think … no way! So basically he has went through this for nothing!!!

Other than that we have been great. I can’t get over how much Nicholas is talking. He repeats everything, and I mean everything, that is said. He can sing is ABC’s and count to ten. He skips #5 every time and misses a few letters but for the most part he has then down!! He is doing awesome at daycare. He loves trucks, planes and cars. Every time he hears a train now he stops and says “oh Thomas the Train”!! LOL!!

He is becoming a daddy’s boy though … everything lately is about daddy!! He loves it when I tell him that daddy is coming to pick him up!! He gets a huge smile and says “I ride in my truck to daddy’s house”!!

We are excited about Halloween on Friday. I took him to Boo at the Zoo last weekend and he loved it! He loves the zoo period, but he had fun wearing his costume. He kept telling everyone “I ARGHHH” (he is a pirate lol)! He keeps asking me if its trick or treat day!!

I am looking forward to the holidays this year … I am excited to see what he thinks of Santa this year!

I get to go home for the week of Christmas also! It will be good to spend time with everyone and by that time I will have a new niece or nephew .. my guess is nephew!! ;)

Other than that jus the normal routine ….. daycare, work and then home!!

Work, work and more work ....

Wow I feel like all I have done lately is eat, sleep and work!! This week Steve took Nicholas for a few days and its been a much needed break for this mommy. I have still worked alot but have been able to relax when I get home. Tomorrow is our board meeting and then its still full force for the Rally. I am starting to get nervous cause its only a couple weeks away! We are expecting a HUGE crowd this year due to our guest speaker being John McCain. This Rally is put on by my department and this year I have been givin alot more reponsibilites ... which is a good thing but has done a number on my nerves!! :)

I really do miss Nicholas .. this is the longest he has been with Daddy so I will be super excited to see him tomorrow night when he gets home!!

I think we are going to a sidewalk chalk expo at Goodale Park this weekend ... next weekend we go to the zoo for fall fest and to meet Dora! Nicholas will be so excited to meet Dora .... I LOVES Dora and Boots!!
